1983 Ford Fiesta XR2 MK1 which has covered 88,311 miles. The car has been stood in a heated garage and unused for the last 8 years. The car is very, very solid and is no rot box. From what we can see, it needs a small plate welding on the near side rear sill, the brakes sorting and the exhaust fitting back on and putting through an mot. The exhaust is provided. It could then be used as is, however, it would certainly benefit from a repaint. This is a complete car and it starts and runs very well. The 1.6 Kent engine is smooth and quiet, even from cold start. A manual choke has been fitted and it works well. The standard 4 speed gearbox is smooth and precise and free from sloppiness. It has had work in all the usual places over the years, but it is very solid and an easy project for someone.

The paint is in a presentable condition, but it has micro-blistered in various places. The roof has had a repair around the sunroof and can be seen in the photos. The door bottoms are very solid and needing no work and the A-posts are solid. The bumpers are in good condition and the plastic corners are not damaged...just faded. One over-rider on the front bumper is split. The correct rubber boot spoiler is good and the tailgate is very, very good and solid. The plastic wheel arch extensions are good.

The interior is complete and in a decent condition to be fair. The seats are very good, apart from a clean up. The carpet is good and again, would benefit from a clean. The soft touch dashboard is very good and free from cracking. The door cards and plastics are good. The head lining still remains tight and the correct over head roof mounted digital clock is clear and in working order. The centre console is intact and fitted with a CD player. A 4 spoke leather RS steering wheel is fitted.

The correct pepperpot alloy wheels are in excellent condition and shod with decent tyres and good amounts of tread remaining. There is no spare wheel.

The car has had 11 previous owners and has no history apart from a couple of old mot certificates. It is HPI clear. In summary...with a tiny amount of work it could be used and enjoyed as is. It is no trailer queen...but it's no rot box either. It's a very easy running project for someone with the know how and skill.
