Our 1990 Ford Fiesta XR2i is presented in a truly beautiful condition and has been enthusiast owned throughout its life and this really does shine through. It appears that each of its 4 owners have loved and pampered this car and have all been as meticulous as each other with the upkeep This stunning example has a service history file approximately 3 inches thick and the service book contains no fewer than 15 stamps. Low and long term ownership has ensured that this car really is the complete package....condition, low owners and extensive paperwork. One of the owners had the car for some 20 plus years!
The Mercury Grey paintwork is in exceptional condition and is consistent across all of the cars original factory fitted panels. The plastic body kit has been off and the arches are as new. The car sits perfectly and all panel gaps are exactly as should be. The body work is arrow straight. It really is difficult to justify finding fault with this little car. Bumper corners are completely scuff free and the blue inserts, bodyside mouldings and XR2i badges are vivid in colour. All rubbers remain supple and crack free and head lights, fog lights and rear lenses are totally clear. Very rare and original Ford head light protectors are fitted to ensure the head lights remain perfect. All factory fitted glass is window etched and the glass factory fitted sunroof is nice and clean and free from water marks within the glass. Door shuts and under wheel arches are all nice and clean. Boot floor is factory original and excellent. The underside presents in a lovely condition and it is clear for all to see that no welding repairs have ever been carried out. Replicated supplying dealer number plates, rear window sticker and period tax disc are all in place and complete the attention to detail... this stunning car is just a delight to look at.
Internally, the car is again...lovely. The front sports seats still remain firm and the Zolda cloth is in excellent condition with just a very tiny amount of stretch. Carpet, head lining and door cards are all lovely and clean and free from any damage. A brand new old stock steering wheel has been fitted and feels remarkable to the touch. All dials and switchgear are fully functional and the electric windows and central door locking are in perfect working order. A slightly more modern Ford radio cassette and a period Laserline alarm system are the only editions to this wonderful, period interior.
The standard steel wheels are still fitted and are covered with the correct and unmarked wheel trims. As new Falken 185/60/13 are fitted all round and have literally covered just a few hundred miles at most.
The engine bay presents in a lovely, clean condition and would not look out of place at any classic car show. Meticulously maintained throughout its life and it drives beautifully. These cars were very often over shadowed and under-rated when new, however, it still feels great to drive and is guaranteed to make you smile. Examples in this condition and with such a comprehensive history file are now getting very, very difficult to come by. Yes, there may very well be examples around with less mileage and for less money. Once you look a little further, we think you wll find that they have all had extensive amounts of welding repairs and some have even had the same repairs fixed over and over again due to bad workmanship.Complete with current V5 registration document, historic mot certificates, full owners handbook pack, extensive history file and two genuine Ford keys, including the torch key. This beautiful car is ready to used and enjoyed at the upcoming classic car shows.
