Granada 2.8 Ghia Estate
This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a beautiful MK2 Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia Estate with just 69973 miles since new.
Finished in Champagne metallic with Peat/Mocha velour, this colour is arguably the nicest combination and it really does look stunning! This wonderful example has evidently been garaged and cherished since new and still remains in a fantastic, un-restored condition. The paintwork still boasts a very deep and consistent shine and the panel gap is lovely. The car has never been welded and certainly doesn't require any. All the head lights, spot lights and front fog lights are the correct and original fitment and in superb condition. All chrome work and glass, are again, excellent. The chassis still wears it's original factory under-seal and it really does present well. Being un-restored, there are a few stone chips and light marks that have been touched in over the years, however this is just in keeping with the cars originality...simply superb!!
The Peat/Mocha velour is in a lovely, untouched condition and showing only the very slightest amount of use. The door cards and wood capping's are in excellent order, as are the carpets, boot carpet and head lining. The dash board is in very nice condition and is only showing one small crack...approximately three quarters of an inch...the interior really is a special place to be and is extremely comfortable. The only addition to this original interior is a CD Tuner...please note, we do not have the original unit. All the electrics are present and in full working order.
Wheels and Tyres:
Still wearing the original fitted alloy wheels and the correct TRX tyres. The wheels are in good condition and present well, however they have got the odd age related marks. All tyres are in good condition with a good amount of tread remaining.
Engine and Transmission:
Having covered just 69973 miles from new, the 2.8 V6 is remarkably smooth and exceptionally quiet. Even by todays standards, this car really is impressive out on the road. It picks up incredibly well and the gear box is silky smooth. These cars must have been hard to beat for refinement back in the day...its just lovely! The exhaust system is brand new and having benefitted from a recent service and an MOT until April of 2017, this wonderful example is ready to use and enjoy over the summer show season...
First registered by St Ives Motor Company on the 8th April 1982, the original number plates, rear window sticker and tax disc holder are still present. A number of previous MOT certificates are in the file. When our local, independent garage checked the car over, they commented on how "exceptionally well cared for" this car is...it's very impressive.
