A very original Citroen AX GT with just 62075 miles. Once a very familiar site on our roads, these great little "hot hatches" are now getting very difficult to come by and as such, they are getting more and more desire able by the day.

Please appreciate that although this car is a good example, it is not of our usual standard and as such, we are selling this as a useable, small/on going project...

Finished in factory black, we would suggest that the car still wears all of its original factory fitted panels, however it has had some paint over the years and has got the usual odd ripple along the sides...very typical of both these and the Peugeot 205 and to be fair this seemed to be the case even when these cars were virtually new. The chassis is in very good order and very solid and so is the boot floor. The top of the drivers side sill, leading towards the front of the door shut has got some rust and will need some attention at some point, however this is not in an area where it will affect the MOT. There is also some slight bubbling on the drivers side front wing where it meets the head light...these are quite miner, however, in our opinion, they would need addressing to make the car very nice. Overall, this is a very useable example that would benefit from a little tlc...

The original interior is in very good order and showing very little sign of wear. The seats are still very solid and the material is excellent, apart from a small mark on the base of the drivers seat. The carpet is very good, along with the door cards, dashboard, steering wheel and headlining. Apart from an upgraded stereo the interior is totally original and still full of 80s French charm! The factory fitted sunroof is fully operational and free from leaks and the gutters are excellent. The electric front windows are fully functional. The central locking is a bit temperamental...hence the car being offered as a project...

Wheels and Tyres:

The factory fitted alloy wheels are in a presentable condition and free from damage, however they would benefit from a refurb and all the tyres are in good condition.

Engine and Transmission:

The little 1380cc unit is very eager and lively. It starts first time, every time and is very smooth from the offset. Apart from an upgraded air filter the engine is completely standard. Weighing next to nothing, the car is very lively, even by todays standards and it never fails to put a huge smile on your face! Its easy to forget sometimes just how much fun these little cars are. The gear change is still very tight and precise and it really does make this car great fun to use.

History File:

Complete with the original handbook pack, there is a host of old MOT certificates and receipts from over the years and the current MOT is until November 2016.

This is a great opportunity to purchase what is fast becoming a true 80s hot hatch legend at sensible money. The last one of these we saw advertised from a dealer was around 3 years ago and that was advertised around the £5/£6000 mark...and even that had lacquer peel on the roof and bonnet. This car is certainly useable and presentable as it is, but with a little bit of time and effort it could be excellent and it is certainly a wise financial investment.
