Orion 1.6 Ghia MK1

£4,195.00

Year 1985
Mileage 46897
Colour Black
Owners 2

A wonderful and very original 1985 Ford Orion MK1 1.6 Ghia with just 46897miles from new and just 2 previous owners.

Sharing the same platform as the ever popular MK3 Escort, we feel that the Orion is a nicer driving car, with better sound insulation at the rear and the boot eliminating the rattles that can sometimes be associated with the MK3 Escort Hatchback.

Exterior:

Finished in the factory applied, optional Black paint and still wearing all of its original factory fitted panels, the finish can only be described as excellent. All the panel gaps are linear straight and the car sits exactly as it should. All the wheel arches, sills, door shuts, sunroof channels, boot floor, back panel, inner wings and battery tray are corrosion free and have never had any works carried out. All panels are Ford stamped and dated as you would expect and the boot floor still carries the original factory build stickers. All glass and head lights are original fitment and are again in excellent condition. The original supplying dealer number plates are still fitted front and rear. All in all, a very original car that we think would be difficult to better and it is in a lovely unmolested and preserved condition. Just in time for the summer show season!

Interior:

A lovely interior and completely original throughout, even down to the fully working, original Ford Radio Cassette player. The dashboard is remarkably crack free and is in lovely condition, which is increasingly rare! The carpets, headlining and plastics are in excellent condition. The electric windows and door mirrors are fully functional and all the instruments and switchgear are in full working order. The interior condition is evidence that this car has lead quite a sheltered and well cared for life.

Wheels and Tyres:

Still fitted with the correct Ford wheel trims, all the tyres are nearly new and have covered very few miles. The original spare wheel is present and wears an unused tyre. All tools are in place and again, are unused.

Engine and Transmission:

A very clean and well presented engine bay is home to the 1.6 CVH power plant. The engine is completely standard and has not been modified in any way. It starts first turn of the key and settles to I very nice, smooth idle. The car really does drive very well and the 5 speed gearbox is still tight and precise. A cam belt change and oil service has just been carried out for peace of mind.

History File:

First registered on the 7th August 1985 by Allen's Ford of Romford, the original number plates are still in place. The first owner kept the car until 2014 and then it formed part of a very impressive private collection. All handbooks are present along with the original service booklet. A host of old MOT certificates are present along with all old tax discs.

MOT until March 2017 and HPI clear.
